The first song Chali Chali from Thalaivi starring Kangana Ranaut has finally dropped on YouTube. As promised and reported, South superstar Samantha Akkineni has released the first song in all the languages - Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The soothing number highlights the initial phase of Jayalalithaa's filmy career. Chali Chali traces sequences even from her first film Vennira Adai (1965). Recreating the exact looks of Jayalalithaa, Kangana Ranaut embodies the look of the yesteryear actor perfectly.
Shooting entirely in a studio format like the olden times, the shoot lasted for 3 days capturing the varied looks of Jayalalithaa through the song. Sharing the links of the song, Samantha wrote, “Amma's unmatched grace and her stunning screen presence is known to all. Witness her fanfare from Cinema to CM. #ChaliChali #MazhaiMazhai #IlaaIlaa out! @KanganaTeam @thearvindswami” In the video, we see Kangana in different and colourful looks which are usually shown during the golden era. As Samantha unveiled the songs, Kangana shared a thank you note for graciously doing so.

Talking about Thalaivi, the film is based on Jayalalithaa's life, right from her struggles in the film industry, the rise of her stardom to her battle through the political hurdles and ultimately emerging as the fierce leader of Tamil Nadu. Thalaivi is set to release worldwide in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu by Zee Studios on 23rd April 2021.
